Sunday 13th - SUP Session The bluff

Plenty of Longboarders for company..
Sunday dawned pretty overcast but mild and with little or no wind leaving a stand up session the only option.  With a big swell forecast a rising tide and the option to try out the Starboard Hero directed me to the Bluff, or the River mouth at  Hayle hoping to be the ideal spot.  At 33" wide the Hero is classed in the 'Widebody Range' and exhibits excellent stability, although being only 9' in length the board behaves really well on the wave too.  It has 146 liters of volume providing plenty of  float despite being short and the classic 3 fin setup with 2 FCS thrusters along side its main classic fin box allows both short snappy turns or longer more powered bottom turns depending upon your style of riding.  This board is available with the  windsurf Option allowing you to plug a rig - This proves ideal for lighter winds and smallish waves if you prefer sailing or simply cannot be bothered to paddle.  If you are interested in trying one why not e-mail us and book a test drive...

Pretty clean sets and reasonable wave period provided a very enjoyable session - Photo Marcus Way
